I watch a lot of movies. This led to a relative getting me a book called 501 Must-See Movies. I’m slowly working my way through the book, and I have to say, I really don’t think you Must-See most of these movies. Most just aren’t worth watching unless you’re a complete film buff. If you are that person: Good for you! You probably should see all of the movies in this book. Three times.
For the rest of us, a lot of these movies are just old and musty. I like watching these sorts of things, but you don’t have to. I’m going to point out every movie in the book that you should actually watch if you just want to see a good movie. I’ll rate each movie either “Must-See” or “Musty”, and come clean about whether I had to fast-forward to get through it. That means that eventually, out of a bloated 501 movies, you’ll end up with a tight little list of movies that you’d be proud to have on your arm at the next reunion/Christmas party/maritime race.
